Google Earth provides close-up of Cosmos accommodation
Cosmos is using Google Earth technology to allow agents and holidaymakers to see close-up satellite views of its entire 2007 Florida programme.
Using the web, agents can zoom in and out and scroll around to find where individual Cosmos hotels and apartments are located in relation to attractions and local amenities such as banks, restaurants and supermarkets before confirming the chosen accommodation.
The site allows users to request directions between accommodation and attractions. These can be printed from the site and handed to customers to help them plan their Florida trip.
The software is fully integrated with the Cosmos Florida website to provide all details on holidays available as well as attraction information and tickets and latest offers.
Cosmos product director Stuart Jackson said: “With a destination like Florida people want to plan their holiday of a lifetime right down to the last possible detail – see exactly how close their chosen hotel will be to everything they want to visit and take full advantage of whilst on holiday.
“We decided that our Florida programme was the perfect product with which to launch the Cosmos Google Earth link but we will be rolling the technology out across other products shortly.”
