Google to buy Frommer’s guidebooks brand
Google is to buy travel guidebooks brand, Frommer’s, for an undisclosed sum.
The announcement was made by Frommer’s current parent company, John Wiley & Sons, who put the business up for sale earlier this year.
The deal comes nearly a year after Google bought the Zagat guidebooks.
A Google spokeswoman said it would initially keep the Frommer’s brand but would eventually integrate the content with Zagat.
"The Frommer’s team and the quality and scope of their content will be a great addition to the Zagat team. We can’t wait to start working with them on our goal to provide a review for every relevant place in the world," Google said in a statement.
