Governor: Cancun remains safe for tourists
Quintana Roo governor Carlos Joaquin assured visitors the state remains a safe and secure destination. He wasn’t addressing the risk of Covid infections but the growing disquiet of gun violence in and around the state’s tourist resort areas.
Quintana Roo recently deployed hundreds of National Guard troops to beef up security in Cancun and Tulum, which have experienced recent gunfire incidents between rival gangs which has seen tourists flee in panic
