Green Travel Market is launched
Sustainable Travel International announced the official launch of the Green Travel Market (GTM) in North America.
The group says GTM is a “business to business service designed to help tour operators and other tourism suppliers become more aware pf sustainable products, integrate them into the packages and services they offer, and reach relevant markets.”
GTM’s broad range of services include a network of over 500 tour operators aiming to promote sustainability, a matchmaking service to support new product development, and a consumer marketing arm.
Central to GTM is a data base of tourism suppliers with credentials for being sustainable.
The list of products ranges from accommodations such as organic farms, care-free resorts, community-based tourism projects and others.
GTM cooperates with various non-governmental organizations to promote sustainable products world-wide.
Joining the GTM is free to tour operators and other tourism suppliers, but members must meet various criteria, including offering certified sustainable tourism products.
