Haimark gets approval for Miami-Cuba cruises
Haimark Line is the latest cruise operator to be given the go-ahead for people-people cruises to Cuba.
The Denver-based line will deploy the 105-passenger Saint Laurent ship for nine-night sailings to Cuba from February 2016.
The cruises will depart Miami for several stops in Cuba, including an overnight in Havana.
Other port calls will be Maria La Gorda, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Santiago de Cuba, Parque Nacional Alejandro de Humboldt and Holguin.
Carnival’s new fathom ‘social impact’ cruise line announced this month it would begin Cuba cruises from May 2016 while European line MSC Cruises plans to homeport The MSC Opera ship in Havana.
Overall Cuba tourism is booming in 2015 with more than two million visitors recorded already this year, up 16% compared to the same period last year.
