HAL offers three solar eclipse sailings in 2026
Holland America Line will offer three solar eclipse cruises in August 2026 aboard three ships sailing in Europe
Itineraries take guests to prime locations to experience natural phenomena including the Northern Lights, total solar eclipse and summer solstice
“After the success of the 2024 eclipse cruises, we knew our guests were looking for additional opportunities,” said Beth Bodensteiner, CCO for HAL.
Guests booking designated solar eclipse cruises can enjoy lectures from scientific experts plus themed activities.
Eclipse glasses will be provided for guests’ safety.
Three ships will be positioned under the path of totality for the August 12, 2026, total solar eclipse.
Oosterdam will take guests to the Mediterranean to witness the eclipse off the eastern coast of Spain, while Nieuw Statendam will explore Northern Europe, sailing off the western coast of Iceland for the eclipse.
Guests can also sail on Zuiderdam for the popular Voyage of the Vikings cruise, for the solar eclipse.
