Harp Wallen holds Saturday Open Day

Monday, 08 Apr, 2008 0

Executive recruitment firm Harp Wallen is opening its offices for phone and face-to-face meetings this Saturday.

Called ‘Search Saturday’, it will be a one-off event which will be held more regularly if a success.

The recruitment company says the move follows an influx of assignments, just one month after it launched The FlexExec Register, a database of interim, contract and non-executive positions.

“We’ve seen increasing evidence from our clients and candidates that more and more of them want to be able to talk about their recruitment needs or career outside of the usual working hours, this is why we’re open for business this Saturday,” said managing director Kristina Wallen.

“The nature of interim and project roles means that there is a higher urgency to fill the roles. Employing someone to complete a particular project often means that they are recruited and working within the business far faster than getting in a high-level executive on a permanent basis due to long notice periods for example.

“Usually people looking for interim work are available more quickly so the recruitment process can take days rather than weeks or months.”

Since its launch in early March, The FlexExec Register has seen the number of candidates rise from 200 individuals to 290.

Between 10.30 and 4.00pm this Saturday, Harp Wallen will open its London offices near Oxford Street to candidates looking for their next career move and clients wanting to discuss roles to be filled.

“All too often it’s tricky for candidates to call or meet with us during the working week. It’s not enough to only be around Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm these days, a modern business has to offer more.”
