Visitor arrivals to Hawaii grew by 6% in June, while total spending was up 4% according to initial data released by the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
A total of 767,905 visitors came to the Aloha State, up from 724,503 in June 2014.
The HTA said the increase was fueled by more vacationers from the US West Coast, offsetting a decline from the Japan market.
The number of Japanese tourists fell 2.3% in June to 118,911.
However the biggest decline was felt in Canada, with 9.2% fewer Canadians visiting Hawaii last month.
The Canadian dollar is at its lowest level for a decade, causing more and more Canadians to put off overseas travel and vacation at home.
Overall, first half 2015 arrivals to Hawaii were estimated at 4.3 million visitors, generating $7.6 billion in total spending.
Additionally HTA plans to ramp up marketing to international markets and is seeking to secure new marketing representation from 2016 in several regions including Korea, China, Europe and Taiwan.
