Hawaii posted another record year for visitor arrivals and spending in 2015.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority said a record 8.6 million people traveled to the islands last year, up 4%, and beating the previous full year record for the fourth straight year.
Annual visitor spending increased by more than 2% to $15 billion in 2015, the HTA said.
A rise in direct flights saw visitor increases from the US Mainland and key overseas markets China and Australia.
Oahu and Maui both recorded best ever arrival figures, but the volume of visitors to Hawaii Island and Kauai fell short of the previous record of 2007.
Cruise traffic was also down by 7.3% compared to 2014 with eight fewer out-of-state cruise calls during the last year.
