Hawaiian Airlines latest carrier to eliminate change fees
Hawaiian Airlines is now among the growing list of airlines offering flight changes for free.
It is eliminating change fees for all flights including interisland services, flights between Hawaii and the US mainland and even international flights.
The airline had already been waiving the fees due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"We know our guests’ plans change for a variety of reasons, and we want them to book a flight with confidence and the flexibility to travel when they are ready to take that special Hawaii vacation," said Hawaiian Airlines CEO Peter Ingram.
It is valid for all classes except Main Cabin Basic, although like other fares, change fees are being waived at the moment until the pandemic ends.
Hawaiian joins United Airlines, which was the first to eliminate change fees, Delta, American, and Alaska Airlines.
Airlines’ change fees were as high as $200 per ticket, and had been one the fees that airline customers hated the most.
