Hawaiian Airlines has rolled out an online bidding tool for customers vying for an upgrade.
The new auction upgrade service is called Bid Up and allows main cabin guests to bid for available First Class seats, for flight segments between Hawaii and North America.
Guests with economy bookings will receive a Bid Up email about 10 days prior to departure to bid on upgrades.
Successful bidders will then be notified 48 hours before departure.
"We’re extremely excited to introduce Bid Up to our guests. We understand travelers have different options when planning trips to Hawaii, which is why we’re committed to providing each guest with unique offerings and exceptional benefits," said Miranda Scott, managing director – travel products for Hawaiian Airlines.
The bidding service is managed by Plusgrade and winners will receive all usual First Class cabin perks, including two complimentary checked bags with priority baggage handling, dedicated check-in lines, lounge access and priority pre-boarding.
