Hawaiian Airlines offering Covid-19 testing
To help kick start Hawaii’s tourism recovery, Hawaiian Airlines is now offering pre-travel Covid-19 testing for customers.
Hawaii-bound passengers can get drive-through PCR tests ahead of travel if departing from Los Angeles or San Francisco.
It starts on 15 October, which is the same day Hawaii kicks off its pre-travel testing program, allowing visitors to avoid quarantine if they have negative test results.
Hawaiian becomes the second airline to offer testing after United Airlines announced a similar program last week.
Customers pay $60 to get their results within 36 hours, or $150 for a ‘day-of-travel express service.’
Hawaiian says it hopes to expand the testing facility to other airports soon.
"We’re grateful to the state of Hawai’i for its partnership in developing the pre-travel testing program. It is critical to ensure that access to testing does not impede travel to Hawaii for visitors or our residents," said Avi Mannis, the airline’s Senior Vice President of Marketing.
