Heathrow notches another passenger traffic record
London Heathrow handled more than 7.2 million passengers last month, its best ever October on record.
Fuelled by the half term holiday, it was the sixth month in a row of more than seven million passengers, which also marled a record.
Heathrow now expects to finish the year with a new record of 83.8 million passengers
Heathrow CEO Thomas Woldbye said: “This year has been all about breaking records at Heathrow. Being home to the world’s most connected airport is a huge boost for the UK economy.”
The airport invested more than £1 billion in 2024 alone to improve infrastructure and the overall passenger experience.
This includes enhanced retail spaces, new security lanes and resurfacing runways.

Heathrow is the worst for travelers having connecting flights. Even though you went through security at your originating airport, you have to go through their security. The lines are usually bad but were horrendous on my last experience in October. Xray machines weren't working. Lines weren't moving. I had 1 1/2 hours to connect in Heathrow and only made my connecting flight because it was delayed. Heathrow, fix this problem or people are going to look elsewhere to connect.
