Helloworld acquires yet another travel firm

Helloworld Travel Ltd has continued its shopping spree with another acquisition.

The latest item in its shopping trolley is Flight Systems Pty Ltd, which offers web-based flight booking tech, and also operates airline booking site Skiddoo.

Helloworld didn’t disclose the transaction value but will be funded from cash reserves.

The purchase will boost revenues by an expected $80 million this year, Helloworld said.

"Flight systems is an established business with proven technologies and takes us significantly forward in the expansion of our system’s capabilities across the business," the company said.

Helloworld recently took over Magellan Travel Group the latest new deal takes to five the number of acquisitions in less than a year.

These include Cruise Factory, wholesaler Seven Seas Cruising, and travel agency group MTA.

The company said it is still on the lookout for further acquisitions in Australia and internationally.
