Hilton Auckland’s White Restaurant Named One Of The ‘Ten Great Hotel Restaurants of the World’
Hilton Auckland’s award winning restaurant, White, received yet another accolade when HOTELS Magazine named White one of the Great Hotel Restaurants of the World for 2007.
Only ten restaurants are honoured on the prestigious annual list, with White being ranked alongside Thiptara at The Peninsula in Bangkok and Refuel from The Soho Hotel, London.
“To be recognized along side some of the world’s great hotel restaurants is a great achievement, a milestone to be truly proud of”, said John Ingram, General Manager Hilton Auckland.
HOTELS Magazine, published by Reed Business Information in the USA and considered the hospitality industry’s leading magazine, has been awarding the world’s best hotel restaurants for 17 years.
Eleven of the world’s most experienced hospitality editors, writers & consultants including Fred Feretti, Kurt Fisher and Mary Gostelow comprise the selection committee for the Awards, they considered 100 nominees before selecting the top ten that they deemed “truly great”.
“Menus at this year’s Great Hotel Restaurant honorees signal a new passion for healthy “clean” food that creative chefs can enhance with anything from inventive preparation techniques to international accents”, commented the committee.
Describing White’s cuisine, the judges observed “Bernabe’s signature style starts with simple dishes, then jumpstarts their impact by creating interesting combinations and enhancing natural flavours with delicate sauces or broths”.
Bernard Bernabe, Executive Chef, Hilton Auckland, was thrilled with the award, “It’s an honour to receive such an accolade.” “Since opening, White has been at the forefront of dining in New Zealand and this award confirms my long-held belief that White amongst the best.”
“I’m proud to showcase New Zealand food and wine and White’s inclusion in this esteemed list of hotel restaurants demonstrates yet again that New Zealand stands head to head with the giants of international cuisine.”
