Hong Kong Airlines has teamed up with Kenya’s flag carrier for a codeshare agreement.
It offers increased connectivity for Kenya Airways’ customers to East Asia via Hong Kong Airlines’ Bangkok-Hong Kong route.
It will place its KQ code on the daily service.
Kenya Airways presently operates three times a week to Hong Kong and with this new agreement offers daily connectivity for its passengers.
"This code-sharing partnership will enable us offer our customers seamless connection, especially for our passengers in the region who mainly travel to these Asian cities for business," Kenya Airways CEO Mbuvi Ngunze said in a statement.
Conversely Hong Kong Airlines can book through tickets to KQ’s hub in Nairobi.
"We are very glad to welcome Kenya Airways, a respectful international airline from Africa, as our latest codeshare partner. Hong Kong Airlines launched the route to Bangkok since 2010 and now the city has become one of our best connected destinations with 34 weekly flights currently. We look forward to serving passengers from Kenya Airways on board with our Skytrax 4-star quality service," said Li Dianchun, chief commercial officer of Hong Kong Airlines.
