Holland America Line has unveiled the maiden voyage of its new ship, MS Koningsdam, which sets sail in February 2016.
The ship will start with a seven-day Premiere Voyage in the Mediterranean departing from Civitavecchia in Rome on February 20 and sailing to Dubrovnik, Croatia; Kerkira (Corfu) and Katakolon (Olympia), Greece, and Naples, Italy.
It will then continue on a series of 12-day Premiere Sailings through early May 2016. Two alternating roundtrip itineraries both leave from Civitavecchia.
The first calls at Katakolon, Piraeus (Athens), Rhodes and Crete, Istanbul (overnight) and Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey and Naples.
The other itinerary visits Naples, Palermo in Sicily, Cagliari in Sardinia, Gibraltar, and Cadiz, Malaga, Cartagena and Barcelona (overnight) in Spain.
These sailings go on sale on December 1.
Holland America Line is currently finalising details of the ship’s summer and autumn 2016 cruises and said information will be released in the coming months.
The 2,650-guest ship is scheduled for delivery by Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy on February 15.
