Hong Kong Express heads for Bangkok
HONG KONG – Hong Kong Express Airways will launch flights on its newest Southeast Asian route between Hong Kong and Bangkok in early next month.
The new service will be the second of three scheduled flights between Hong Kong and Thailand that Hong Kong Express Airways will operate before the end of the year, Chiang Mai having been launched in June 2006.
Hong Kong Express said, “While we await the liberalisation of routes to promising Mainland China markets, we decided to diversify our fleet capacity to popular points in Southeast Asia.
“As well as offering more options to passengers flying from Hong Kong, the introduction of flights to Bangkok – and other destinations we plan to unveil over the coming few months – will also create a network of connecting traffic from our existing mainland routes.”
Hong Kong Express plans four flights each week between Hong Kong and Bangkok using its B737-800 aircraft.
An additional five routes being planned by Hong Kong Express for introduction later this year will include the airline’s third route between Hong Kong and Thailand – Phuket.
