Protesters in Hong Kong have accepted an offer of talks with the government after a week of unrest, which brought some areas of the city to a standstill.
Chief Executive CY Leung Leung offered the talks with his deputy late on Thursday but rejected calls to resign, said the BBC.
Government offices in the main protest areas were closed temporarily today as roads were blocked. Public transport has also been hit, but reports say that protest today were smaller than earlier in the week.
However, the BBC said there were ‘some scuffles’ as police tried to keep protesters back from buildings.
