Hotel Covid cleaning standards get mixed reviews
The Covid-19 pandemic has ramped up scrutiny of hotel room cleanliness to a whole new level. Hotel chains in the US and globally have rolled out their own enhanced cleaning protocols.
Guests’ aspiration of what constitutes a clean room seems to have changed too, with added scrutiny on issues which may have been passed off as satisfactory pre-pandemic. That has led to mixed reviews. The American Hotel & Lodging Association states ‘hotels are cleaner than they’ve ever been before’ but perhaps rightly concedes you just can’t please everyone all of the time.
