Hotel swaps soft-core porn for Bible

Wednesday, 24 Jul, 2012 0

USA Today reports that the Damson Dene Hotel in Great Britain’s Lake District has exchanged Gideon Bibles in all 40 of its rooms for the soft-core-porn sensation, Fifty Shades of Grey.

The hotel owner Jonathan Denby was quoted as saying "I’m told it’s a ripping good yarn…and everyone who’s in the target audience loves it."  Denby said he swapped the book for the Bible which, "no one reads and many dislike."

Denby’s blog says guests can still borrow a copy of the Bible from the reception desk.  He told NBC News that Americans seemed to be more upset about the swap than UK travelers.  He’s already gotten a barrage of e mails from the US exhorting him to put the Bibles back.
