Monday, 23 Sep, 2016 0

Located directly on the beach of Noordwijk, just 30 minutes from Amsterdam, Hotel van Oranje is a unique hotel offering the best of Dutch hospitality.

Green Globe congratulates Hotel van Oranje on its Gold status and five years of continuous certification.

Jaap Liethof, Managing Director at the hotel said, "Hotel van Oranje is honored to have been awarded with the Green Globe Gold certificate. It’s a way of living that we all have embraced. We are very proud of our Gold status. I want to thank our dedicated Green Globe team, under the leadership of HR Manager Saskia Breuls, for their excellent work".

Sustainability is of the utmost importance to Hotel van Oranje. Resource management continues to focus on energy conservation with 90% of all lighting throughout the property now replaced with new LED lighting. Water saving taps are fitted in all bathrooms and restrooms to reduce water consumption. Staff also targeted improving separation of waste as part of the hotel’s waste management strategies.

The hotel is engaged in contributing to a better environment. The exclusive Beachclub O, a permanent beach pavilion, is constructed of sustainable materials and has a unique insulation system that uses a geothermal pump to cool the building in the summer and provide warmth in the winter using water from an onsite well.

Hotel van Oranje supports numerous charity projects through financial donations. One such event, Spieren voor Spieren Gala, is organised and held at the hotel each year. This foundation conducts valuable research into childhood muscular disease in the Netherlands.

In line with its corporate social responsibilities, the property encourages local economic development sourcing 73% of products and services from local suppliers. The hotel works closely with businesses that share its philosophy of sustainability without compromising luxury.
