Hotel worker arrested, accused of sex attack on guest
A South Korean hotel employee has been detained accused of the rape of a Chinese tourist
A hotel receptionist at a hotel on Jeju island was arrested after the woman reported the attack to police.
Neither party has been named.
The South Korean hotel worker allegedly sneaked into a room and sexually assaulted her, according to Jeju police.
The victim says he entered her room with a master key.
She said she had drunk too much alcohol and was unable to flight him off.
Security camera footage appears to back up her story.
She had been escorted back to her room by other Chinese guests. The suspect then entered her room soon after.
The hotel worker has denied it, saying it was consensual.
Police are expected to charge him with ‘quasi-rape.’
This is when a person ‘engages in sex with another person by taking advantage of their state of unconsciousness or inability to resist.’
