Hotels added to AAA Five Diamond awards
Some new hotels were added to AAA’s 2006 list of Five Diamond properties.
New to the list next year are The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, and the Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, both in Florida.
Another new hotel on the list: the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara in California.
AAA rates nearly 57,000 restaurants and lodgings throughout all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
There are now 150 such designations.
AAA says only 0.26% or about one quarter of one percent of all rated properties receive the Five Diamond award, which is the organization’s highest rating.
Only three properties have kept their Five Diamond ratings for 30 years: The Broadmoor in Colorado, the Greenbrier in West Virginia and the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Ariz.
