Air New Zealand said nearly 400 more cabin crew jobs are at risk.
The continued lull in long-haul flying means the airline has to downsize its cabin crew count again.
Up to 385 cabin crew positions will be reduced, with compulsory redundancies a possibility.
That takes the total number of Covid-19 related job losses or furloughs to more than a third of its entire workforce.
The airline is blaming low demand on North American routes.
Air NZ has reduced Los Angeles flights from a daily service to three times a week and suspended passenger services to San Francisco.
"In the foreseeable future, we have around 385 more wide body cabin crew in the business than we have work for. Any decision we make will be made in consultation with our people and the unions, with redundancies as the last resort," Air NZ said.
The union says the latest job cuts will likely happen by December.
The airline has already cut its workforce by about 4,000.
Air New Zealand said it plans to maintain a domestic schedule of about 75% of normal pre-pandemic levels.
