Hurtigruten opens US headquarters in Seattle

Expedition cruise line Hurtigruten today opens its new US headquarters in Seattle.
 
The HQ also features a public travel center where can consumers can learn about Hurtigruten voyages and make bookings.
 
"This is a tremendous milestone for the company as we continue to expand our U.S. operations.  he demand is growing within the expedition travel segment and the building of a world-class office and consumer-centric facility comes at a perfect time for our continued growth in the US," said Daniel Skjeldam, CEO of Hurtigruten.
 
A grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony is being conducted by Norwegian Honorary Consul Kim Nesselquist.
 
It is followed by a program of events including Scandinavian food and wine tastings.
 
"After we re-entered the US market in partnership with an external sales and marketing company nearly four years ago, we have grown our business to a level that justifies the opening of our very own US headquarters in Seattle," said Gordon Dirker, Hurtigruten’s North America managing director.
 
Hurtigruten expedition ship itineraries include voyages to Norway, Antarctica, Greenland, Iceland, Canada, South America and Europe.
