Cruise line Hutigruten is establishing an Asia base with the opening of a regional office in Hong Kong.
To support the expansion the line has appointed industry veteran William Harber as president, China & Asia-Pacific.
Haeber has previously served in executive roles for Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Line in the Asia market.
He will be responsible for building the brand and driving sales in Greater China and across Asia Pacific from India to Australasia.
"Adventure travel is one the fastest growing global tourism mega trends. I am of the opinion that the premium Hurtigruten experience, with activity, learning and sustainability in the core, resonate particularly well in these regions," Harbin said.
He will also oversee travel trade engagement in the region.
Most recently he was Asia managing director for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
