With new passports in hand, first time overseas trippers, Warren and Lyn Meredith arrived on Castaway Island, Fiji recently, their first overseas destination ever.
Even after the media hype covering the coup, the Meredith’s were determined to continue with their plan to visit Castaway island, Fiji and the island’s staff ensured they were not disappointed with their choice.
Despite not being at all familiar with Fiji or the Fijian people, the Meredith’s, after speaking to staff on Castaway prior to their arrival, were confident they would be safe and they were right, saying, “We just had a wonderful time and the people are so friendly”. “We’ve been telling everyone how wonderful Castaway is…we recommend it for everyone.”
Warren Meredith, who is obviously fitter than most, went kayaking around the full perimeter of the island every day in between spending time with Lyn sun bathing, reading, island hopping and indulging in Castaway’s island cuisine, adding “Castaway is an ideal family island and, even though we had never been to Fiji before, we felt very safe.”
Castaway is still welcoming first time guests on a regular basis with Operations Manager Steven Andrews saying, “ Considering the recent media hype, it is one thing seeing the return of our repeat guests who have become part of the family here, becasue they know that the picture created by the media is not the reality on Castaway, but it is just so wonderful and very reassuring to see first time guests arrive on our shores and I suppose Castaway’s iconic reputation has helped is this regard.”
