IHG opens 35 new hotels in two months

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s largest and most global hotel company, opened a whopping 35 hotels in just two months – May and June.

That represented an addition of more than 3,342 rooms across the Americas, the company said.

Those 35 hotels included nine Holiday Inn openings and two Holiday Inn Express facilities. They also included two Staybridge Suites, an upscale extended-stay brand, in Eatonton, N. J., and a property in Aurora, Ill. Staybridge now has 76 properties.

One of the newest InterContinental brands, Candlewood Suites, opened a 51-room property in Stevensville, Mich. Candlewood is a mid-priced, extended-stay brand.
