SoCal’s Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina has stacks of fun planned for the 4th of July holiday weekend.

It is inviting the whole family to enjoy the holiday, Southern California style.

Independence Day on the Back Bay features watersports, Movies on the Beach, Tunes at the Dunes live entertainment and one of Southern California’s largest fireworks shows.

The long weekend kicks off at Newport Dunes by getting on the water to experience the Inflatable Water Park with 26 inflatables including slides, trampolines, and monkey bars. Guest can try watersports rentals including kayaks, pedal boats, stand up paddleboards and the resort’s 21-foot electric Duffy boats.

Grab a bite at Newport Dunes’ walk-up bar and grill, Moe B’s Munchies, serving a menu of American favorites and signature cocktails. Food trucks and full bars will be available all weekend from 12 noon – 7:30 pm. Live entertainment takes place from 5-8 p.m. with Tunes at the Dunes featuring Cassie B on Saturday, July 1, The ShowBiz Guys on Sunday, July 2, and a DJ Dance Party on Monday, July 3.

Stay for a family-friendly Movie on the Beach on Saturday, July 1 at dusk. The Inflatable Water Park and watersports activities will be available daily from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. throughout the summer.

On Tuesday, July 4, gates open at 8 a.m. for Independence Day on the Back Bay. Tip: Arrive early to set up beach chairs and umbrellas. Full water sports fun continues throughout the day. Live music at the Horseshoe Stage features hip-hop, R&B, and disco beats from 3-5 p.m. and rock ‘n roll by The Dreamboats from 5-8 p.m.

Saunter over to the sand to play lawn games while enjoying the music.

Take a seat on the sand after dark to watch the most spectacular pyrotechnic fireworks show in Orange County, co-sponsored by the City of Newport Beach.

Reservations for onsite parking are now available. Each Fourth of July Reserved Parking Pass is valid for one reserved parking space for one vehicle in the main lot.

Inflatable Water Park & Watersports Rentals

10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Purchase a pass to the Inflatable Water Park, or rent kayaks, pedal boats, stand up paddle boards or a 21-foot electric Duffy boat (seats up to 8 people). Advance reservations can be made online and are recommended for all water activities. All water activity in the lagoon ends at 8 p.m. in order for the fireworks show to commence.

Tunes at the Dunes ft. The Dreamboats and DJ yo-b1 3–8 p.m.

At the Horseshoe between Pavilion C and the Gazebo

DJ yo-b1 will be spinning hip-hop, R&B, and funky beats from 3-5 p.m. The Dreamboats bring back good ol’ rock n’ roll from 5-8 p.m. With a sound reminiscent of Chuck Berry, this Canadian quartet delivers a high-energy show.

The Fireworks Show (from 9 p.m.) is co-sponsored by the City of Newport Beach.
