Indian airlines caught off-guard by mass sick leave protests
Indian regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is keeping tabs on the labour situation after maintenance workers of airlines went on mass sick leave.
The walkouts at Indigo and Go First are protests over low pay.
It has spooked airlines which have been in close contact with the DGCA.
“We expect a resolution soon,” the regulator said.
IndiGo says it is ‘in constant dialogue with employees to take care of any issues or grievances.’
It says operations will continue to run normally.
