India’s biggest budget carrier IndiGo has signed its first ever GDS agreement with Travelport.
IndiGo will distribute its fares and add-on ancillary products to all Travelport trade partners worldwide and will also make use of Travelport’s merchandising capabilities.
"This arrangement with Travelport will allow us to reach new customers both at home and overseas in a cost effective manner without incurring the traditional costs associated with participating in global distribution platforms using old style industry mechanisms," said IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh.
Travelport distributes its products in India via the Interglobe platform which is a sister company to IndiGo.
