Indonesia unveils health protocols campaign
Indonesia has launched its nationwide health protocols campaign, aiming to boost confidence in the tourism industry.
The ‘Indonesia Care’ campaign covers implementation guidelines for health, hygiene, and guest safety for hotel, restaurant and cinema operations.
"The implementation of this protocol is very important to be carried out properly by involving entrepreneurs, consumers, and communities. The tourism and creative economy sector can return to be productive but still safe from Covid-19," said tourism minister, Wishnutama Kusubandio.
Officials are urging the public and business community to get onboard and participate to ensure sanitation and hygiene standards are maintained.
The ministry says this will engender public trust and confidence among foreign tourists, as well as help speed up ‘travel bubble’ cooperation.
Full details of the campaign will be rolled out soon.
It comes after a global study was published on Covid-19 safety and risk assessment, giving Indonesia a low ranking.
It came 97th out of 200 countries assessed.
Criteria for the study was based on quarantine efficiency, monitoring and detection, and health readiness.
