Investigation after fire on Princess Cruises’ private island
An investigation is underway after a fire broke out on Monday night on Princess Cruises’ private island, Eleuthera, in the Bahamas.
A statement from the cruise line said no guests were on the island at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
It said locals firefighters and island staff fought the blaze for around an hour before it was put out.
The island is used as a day resort for passengers.
Princess is still assessing whether the fire will impact any future calls.
"The safety of our employees and guests is our number one priority," it said.
