Investigation after massive explosion near Cairo Airport
An investigation has begun following a massive explosion at a chemical factory close to Cairo International Airport.
Latest reports say 12 people were injured in the explosion, which happened around 10:30pm local time on Thursday, and is believed to have been caused by two fuel storage tanks catching fire.
The blast could be heard across the city and massive plumes of smoke could be seen but flights to and from the airport were not affected.
