Italy to quarantine UK arrivals over Christmas

Monday, 08 Dec, 2020 0

Italy is to impose a mandatory quarantine on anyone arriving from the UK over the Christmas period.

From 21 December to 6 January there will be an obligatory 14-day self-isolation period, even for those with a negative Covid test.

Italy has also decided to close its ski resorts until 6 January and cruise lines have been ordered to suspend all cruises leaving from or calling at Italian ports between 21 December and 6 January.

As a result of the measures, MSC Cruises has cancelled a total of six departures on MSC Grandiosa and MSC Magnifica over the festive period.

Until 21 December, UK holidaymakers can enter Italy with a negative Covid test, or take a test at selected airports on arrival.

Between 21 December and 6 January there will be no requirement for arrivals to take a test since they will have to quarantine instead.
