It’s National Cruise Vacation Week, and the lines are offering all kinds of specials and perks for customers and their agents who book between Oct. 20 and 27.
Carnival Cruise Lines leads off with a special for travel agents. It’s offering a 3,000-point bonus reward — 15 times the normal 200 points — on all 2014 bookings.
Travel agents who book through the Carnival rewards program also will automatically be entered to win a seven-day cruise; Carnival will give away eight of those.
Points can be redeemed for gift cards, iPads and flat-screen TVs.
For passengers, big savings are on tap.
Celebrity is offering a two-for-one deal on travel between May and November 2014, as well as on Windstar "Tropical Enchantment" Caribbean voyages sailing from November 2013 through April 2014, and European cruises throughout 2014. These also include a free two-night stay at a Windstar partner hotel.
Cunard is offering a free balcony upgrade, a $300 credit per stateroom and a reduced and refundable deposit on trans-Atlantic crossings from New York and cruises to the Caribbean.
And Paul Gauguin Cruises is offering 50% off its standard all-inclusive cruises in French Polynesia and Southeast Asia
