With Japan set to fully reopen this summer, touring specialist Wendy Wu Tours has reported a ‘booking frenzy.’
The operator and local partners have been working with the Japanese Government over the last 18 months and is now ready as soon as the green light is given.
In the last seven days Wendy Wu has seen a enquiries spike of almost 170% up on the previous week, with nearly 75% of these from agents
Demand surged for autumn 2022 and spring cherry blossom tours in March and April 2023.
Glen Mintrim, chief executive at Wendy Wu Tours, said: “Japan has taken a very positive move in relaxing its Covid requirements for UK travellers from 1 June, as well as increasing the daily number of international arrivals into the country from 10,000 to 20,000.”
“Following the ‘test tourism’ initiative with triple-vaccinated visitors this month, we’re confident of a full reopening this summer.”
Wendy Wu Tours are currently offering free flights to Japan, saving up to £400 per person and available on all departures in 2022 and 2023, for tours booked by 6 June 2022.
