Japan caps passenger capacity of foreign airlines
The Japanese government has placed further restrictions on international arrivals. It is imposing a limit of no more than 100 passengers per flight for foreign carriers.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said the change is to ensure sufficient quarantine facilities for inbound travellers, similar to restrictions imposed on carriers flying to Australia for several months.
Due to the emergence of Covid variants, all travellers must spend the first three days of quarantine at a government facility before spending the rest of the two-week quarantine in a hotel or other booked accommodation.
