Japan is mulling restarting its ‘Go To Travel’ subsidised domestic campaign. It could be revived as the country eases border controls for foreign travellers.
According to reports, the government will make on an announcement soon. The campaign, launched in summer 2020, helped keep tourism businesses afloat during border closures but was halted as it accelerated the spread of Covid around the country.
Fixed tours for foreign travellers from certain countries begin later this week
