JetBlue launches 'sleep pods' at New York JFK

JetBlue Airways is hoping to offer a little more respite for stressed air travelers with the introduction of ‘sleep pods’ in its New York JFK terminal.
The airline unveiled four JetNap EnergyPods, which are futuristic reclining seats complete with soothing sounds to encourage peaceful rest and relaxation.
Passengers can take a snooze for a 20-minute period for free.
After the 20 minutes is up, the chair wakes the passenger up with lights, music and vibrations.
"We are always focused on making the most comfortable experience for our customers, both on and off the plane," said Icema Gibbs, JetBlue director of corporate social responsibility.
The sleep pods were designed by New York-based MetroNaps and JetBlue says it is the first US airline to offer them.
Other airports such as Toronto Pearson and London-Luton in the UK have similar sleep pods available for travelers.
