Jetstar Asia to resume limited flights
Singapore based budget carrier Jetstar Asia is about to restart limited services.
Starting April 21, flights from Manila, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur will operate up to five times a week, and are only available to Singapore citizens and permanent residents returning home or who have approval for travel, Jetstar said.
The airline will employ various social distancing measures, with minimal in-flight service and only 112 seats, or 60% of capacity, will be sold.
Passengers will only be served water during the flights.
The ‘temporary network’ will run until at least September.
"In line with new circuit breaker measures introduced by the Singapore Government, all passengers will be required to wear a mask, at all times. Crew members will also utilise masks and PPE in accordance with guidelines," the airline said.
The bad news is that impacted customers desperate to get home will not be able to use credit vouchers from previously cancelled flights.
Jetstar Asia was one of the first low cost carriers in the region to ground all flights.
Passenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport was down by 71% in March.
