Good news for Jetstar customers.
The budget airline has agreed to extend a truce with striking ground workers.
Ground workers will delay any further industrial action until at least January 29 after Jetstar management said it will resume negotiations over pay and conditions.
Members of the Transport Workers’ Union had threatened more strikes after the New Year period as pay talks reached a stalemate.
TWU national secretary John Kaine hopes the airline is serious and it is not just another delaying tactic.
"Our claims are modest and they address safety and pay concerns. Jetstar workers are the lowest paid in the Qantas group," Kaine said.
"Working conditions at Jetstar are tough with the company cutting the number of crew working to the point that safety is a problem."
As well as salary increases, the TWU is seeking more rest breaks and better training for staff.
The airline also has a separate pay dispute with pilots.
