‘Just Stop Oil’ protestors arrested at Gatwick

A handful of ‘Just Stop Oil’ protestors were arrested after caused some disruption at London Gatwick.

There was minimal disruption to operations at Gatwick’s Southern terminal.

Police said they were arrested and removed from the terminal.

The activist group said seven were involved in the sit-down protest, using ‘used suitcases with lock-on devices to block the departure gates.’

The action is part of a wider ‘Oil Kills international uprising’ which has targeted numerous airports in multiple countries.

“London Gatwick is open and operating normally. There were a small number of protestors have now been arrested,” an airport spokesperson said.

A larger group of Just Stop Oil activists were arrested at Gatwick in June during a similar protest.
