John Spence, founder of global lifestyle resort brand, Karma Group and Mark Fuller, CEO of Sanctum Hotel Group have announced a joint venture with a goal to develop luxury rock n’ roll themed hotels in top-tier destinations around the world.
Spence and Fuller see a gap for rock music style hotels featuring amenities such as recording studios, cinema screening rooms, spas, restaurants and bars.
"Bringing together our enormous collective experience, in both the music and hospitality industries, to plug the gap in the market for authentic, quality rock and roll inspired hotels seems only natural," said Spence.
"Both Mark and I feel that our brands are ideally aligned to create an extremely successful venture and, above all, we share the mantra is that we are not in the accommodation business, but rather the entertainment business."
The hotels will also house exclusive member clubs offering VIP experiences such as meet and greets with bands, preferential tickets for gigs and backstage tours.
The member clubs will initially roll out at Sanctum Hotel Group properties in the UK and at existing Karma resorts.
The venture is also looking at options to develiop new hotels in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Melbourne and Berlin.
"We’ve created a strong brand in the UK and our existing hotels, year upon year continue to achieve fantastic success," said Mark Fuller, CEO of Sanctum Hotel Group.
"We provide a unique offering; a five star hotel experience, a twist of rock ‘n’ roll and an abundance of incredible facilities. We’re thrilled to be working with Karma to bring our vision to 20 key cities across the world."
Both Spence and Fuller began in the music business before branching out into luxury hospitality.
Spence was previously a music agent in London, where he formed a friendship with Fuller, who established a number of clubs and venues in the city.
