Kayak enters corporate travel market with Kayak for Business
Metasearch site Kayak is venturing into the corporate travel space.
Known for its consumer first leisure travel search service, Kayak is now trying to grab a slice of the lucrative business travel market.
It announced the launch of Kayak for Business.
Companies can request to join a waitlist and those chosen will be able to use the pre-beta service.
The full beta will roll out later this month.
Free to join, it offers a metasearch interface, displaying employees’ options for flights and hotels.
Car rental options are expected to be added in the coming months.
Companies input their travel policies and preferences into the system and employees can then search for options based on those travel policies.
"In the future, we plan to add ways for travelers to opt-in for concierge-level or partner-specific customer service when they need it," Kayak said.
The company says Kayak for Business will likely appeal to small- and medium-size businesses and early stage startups, although it doesn’t plan to initially offer real time human customer support.
