Kayak partner with Direct Ferries
Travel search engine KAYAK is adding ferries to its booking platform via a new partnership with ferry ticket booking site Direct Ferries.
KAYAK users can now search and book over 3,000 worldwide ferry routes to reach their destination.
Through a partnership using Direct Ferries’ proprietary technology Ferries Connect, KAYAK offers the opportunity to compare routes and prices for tickets anywhere in the world.
Direct Ferries has access to live ferry timetables throughout the Mediterranean, Irish Sea, English Channel, Scandinavia, Asia and Australasia.
Due to changing travel behaviour post-Covid, we have seen an increased interest in ferry travel and are delighted to be working with KAYAK to capitalise on this opportunity," said Niall Walsh, Chief Operating Officer at Direct Ferries.
Established in 1999, Direct Ferries aggregates more than 3,300 ferry crossings from more than 700 ports around the globe.
Over 4,500 travel agencies and sites have already partnered with Direct Ferries to use their booking tech.
Laure Bornet, General Manager, KAYAK EMEA, said, "By partnering with Direct Ferries, we saw a great opportunity to diversify our offering for users whilst adding a key mode of transportation that’s vital for so many."
