KD avia to fly daily from Gatwick
Russian airline KD avia is to raise frequency between Gatwick and Kaliningrad this summer from three flights a week to a daily service.
The carrier’s daily flights using single class Boeing 737-300s will run with a 17:15 departure, arriving in Kaliningrad at 2135 local time.
Onward connections to 12 cities in Russia and Astana in Kazakhstan are available. Cities served in Russia include: Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Rostov, Samara, Perm, Kazan and Volgograd.
UK sales manager Loreta Durrell, said: “Traffic has grown to all our destinations since our launch in June last year and with a daily service we expect sales to be boosted by the growing number of businessmen accessing the Russian market who need flexibility in their travel arrangements.
“We are also seeing a growth in tourism to the fascinating city of Kaliningrad, historically called Konigsberg, and we are escorting our first familiarisation trip for tour operators there later this month.
“Already, as well as a number of Russian specialists, major operators such as Exodus, Audley Travel, and Regent Holidays have signed up for the trip and are looking to feature Kaliningrad as a new destination in their future programmes.”
