Khiri Travel Reveals New Products and Partnership Ahead of ITB Berlin

Tuesday, 27 Feb, 2018 0

Southeast Asia-based responsible tourism DMC, Khiri Travel has announced four new destination products for ITB Berlin and a new sales and marketing partnership for the German market. Here are the details:

Indonesia: Connecting to Sulawesi and Beyond
The new Khiri Travel office in Makassar, Sulawesi opened in December. It is now looking after Khiri itineraries in Sulawesi, Kalimantan, The Moluccas, and Papua. "Sulawesi is a massive destination in itself – with increasingly good air links," says Herman Hoven, Khiri Travel Indonesia GM. An increasing number of direct flights from Singapore, Jakarta and Bali are making it more accessible. Hoven recommends Toraja, north to the Poso Lake and Bada Valley in Lore Lindu national park. Then over to the Togean islands to see the Bajo people who live on stilt houses in the open sea. He also recommends Wakatobi, a string of idyllic islands known to divers. Garuda now flies to Wakatobi.

Thailand-Cambodia Coastal Connection
Khiri Travel is now promoting Chantaburi in southeast Thailand. Known for its French influence over 100 years ago, most notably its church, the little-visited province can now be combined with nature conservation hikes and kayaking at the Cardamom Tented Camp in Cambodia. An option is to finish on the quiet Thai island beach retreat of Koh Kood. There are daily direct flights from Angkor to Sihanoukville, another gateway to Cardamom Tented Camp and the border crossing to Thailand.

Insiders with a Story to Tell in Sri Lanka
New to Colombo, Galle, Negombo, Kandy and Jaffna, Khiri Travel has announced conversations with local personalities who have a story to tell. Each insider encapsulates the spirit of place. The personalities include a chef, an archaeologist, street food expert, a painter, a historian, and an artist whose daughter plays sitar.

New 2D/1N Add-On Programs in Myanmar
Khiri Travel Myanmar has announced new 2D/1N add-on programs to take people off the beaten track and closer to local communities across central Myanmar. Five options include Hidden Oases, Cycle Adventure from Bagan to Salay, Yandabo and the Burmese Star Tortoise, A Remote Lake Adventure Beyond Inle in Shan State, and Moeyungyi Wetlands and Golden Rock.

"The emphasis on all five is getting to know communities in rural areas and finding out how they live," says Melissa Tan, Khiri Travel Myanmar GM.

DiaMonde to Represent Khiri Travel in Germany
Effective 1 February, Khiri Travel has appointed DiaMonde to be its sales and marketing representative for Germany. Richard Brouwer, CCO of Khiri Travel, said: "The Khiri Travel and DiaMonde partnership is innovative and fresh. It will take both companies in new directions. We both believe there will be big demand for Khiri Travel’s unique brand of responsible tourism among thoughtful and discerning German customers with a passion for discovery."

Khiri Travel will be represented at ITB Berlin (Hall 26B, Stand 203) by Founder Willem Niemeijer, CCO Richard Brouwer, Khiri Travel Myanmar GM Melissa Tan, Khiri Travel Myanmar GM Herman Hoven, Khiri Travel Vietnam GM Oleg Shafnarov (at the Global Discovery stand, Hall 4.1/238), Khiri Travel Myanmar MD Edwin Briels (at the Myanmar stand Hall 26B/226), Khiri Travel Sales & Marketing for Europe Adrian Croft, and Khiri Travel Germany Sales Manager Dana Leidel.
