Fledgling airline Kiwi Regional Airlines is cancelling its Dunedin-Queenstown route less than a month after it launched.
It began services on October 27, and just one day in said it was scaling back services due to lack of demand.
Now it will end all flights on November 30 with customers holding reservations for later dates offered full refunds.
Kiwi Air chief executive Ewan Wilson said the market had been ‘extremely challenging’ due to low demand and earlier cancellations due to weather conditions.
"We made a commercial decision to end the scheduled Queenstown flights before they affected the performance of our whole company," Wilson said.
However the carrier’s flights between Dunedin, Nelson and Hamilton have fared better and will continue.
Kiwi Air also said it is looking at other regional routes to fly to including Hawkes Bay, the Bay of Plenty and Taranaki.
